7/22/2010 UPDATE
We had quite the scare with Fiona this week. Fiona got extremely ill and ended up spending the night in the hosptial with IV fluids and medication. Fiona is now home resting and is doing fine. She ended up with a small belly upset that required a ton of work. Fiona is doing great now and is healing perfectly. We are hoping to get Fiona spayed in the next few weeks.
6/23/2010 UPDATE
Fiona went to the vet for another check-up and she is coming along nicely. We updated Fiona's vaccinations and tested her for heartworms. We are so happy to report that she is heartworm negative. We also were able to get Fiona her new "do" for summer.
The vet feels Fiona needs a few more weeks rest and we will do another check around July 19th. We will do another round of x-rays and make sure she is healed. If the vet feels she is healed we will schedule her spay. We will be keeping this page updated on her progress.
Meet Fiona.
Fiona was thrown out of a car window on a busy street, and if that was not bad enough, she was hit by the car behind her and then found herself at the local shelter.
Fiona is suffering from abrasion and puncture wounds all over her body, kennel cough, and a broken pelvis. The vet is putting her on strict crate rest in hopes of avoiding a major surgery. Fiona will be going back to the vet the first week of July for another exam.
The vet feels that Fiona is about 1 year of age. She is a very sweet dog who enjoys being by people, once she gets to know them, but is not sure about other dogs.
We will be keeping the website updated on her status as she progresses with us.

Fiona is coming along nicely. She loves to lay outside in the sun and even played a bit with our resident Beagle Snoopy. Fiona tries so hard to romp and walk, but after a few steps she still has to lie down and rest. We have been taking her outside to enjoy the sun a bit every single day. We recently ordered a doggie stroller so that we can take Fiona out for long walks without hurting her.
